Fraunhofer Italia and VIVIUS have launched the "OPTIONS - OPTimized solutIONS for sustainable retrofits" project, which aims to develop sustainable solutions for energy-efficient building renovation. The project, along with eight others, has been selected for the "Fusion Grant," a competition organized by the South Tyrol Savings Bank Foundation and NOI Techpark in cooperation with the South Tyrol Economic Circle-Economia Alto Adige (SWR-EA) and Rete Economia-Wirtschaftsnetz (Re-WN).

The OPTIONS project aims to develop a concept for energy-efficient retrofitting that not only focuses on reducing energy consumption but also optimizes various aspects of sustainability while taking advantage of the various forms of government incentives. Prof. Dominik Matt, Director of Fraunhofer Italia, is serving as the project’s scientific director. Specifically, standardized retrofit packages will be developed based on building typologies and recurring themes, which will optimize environmental sustainability indicators and facilitate access to tax incentives.

VIVIUS will provide its expertise to identify the most relevant indicators that can be used to carry out the optimization.
