On October 17, 2025, the VIVIUS Annual Conference took place in Brixen under the theme “Building Simply for Tomorrow.”
It was a day full of ideas, discussions, and inspiration centered on the question of how we can build in a simpler, more equitable, and more practical way—without compromising on quality or sustainability.

In her opening remarks, Christine Pfeifer drew on the story of Daedalus and Icarus to remind the audience that building requires balance: between tradition and innovation, between staying grounded and having a vision. Simplicity does not mean sacrifice, but rather clarity and responsibility.

Six engaging speakers demonstrated what this approach looks like in practice:

‍
Anna Heringer with her socially grounded architecture,
Andrea Gasparella with her research on energy efficiency,
Tillmann Jarmer with the principle of simple building,
Elena Petkova with circular material cycles,
Peter Zoderer with socially engaged urban architecture
and Leonhard Resch with projects for affordable, accessible housing.
