VIVIUS Annual Conference 2026: How Do We Build a Good Life in Our Communities?

‍Our Community as a Space for Shaping the Future, Quality of Life, and Togetherness

What makes a place where we enjoy living? What role do community, social interaction, and our built environment play? And how can we shape our communities so that quality of life isn’t just an abstract goal, but something we can experience in our daily lives?

The VIVIUS 2026 Annual Conference, to be held on November 13, 2026, in the South Tyrol Lounge at the Bolzano Exhibition Center, will address these questions. Under the title “How Do We Build a Good Life Locally?”, we will examine the good life from various perspectives—from people, to relationships and community, to the concrete design of our living spaces.

From People to a Place Worth Living In

The series kicks off with Dr. Matthias Strolz, an impact entrepreneur, bestselling author, and international speaker. In his talk titled “Where the Good Life Thrives: On People, Relationships, and Places Worth Living In,” he focuses on people and explores the conditions necessary for a good life and successful coexistence.

Next, David Calas—architect, urbanist/ruralist, and founder of Studio Calas—will explore our existing living spaces . His lecture, “Living in and Revitalizing Places: On Dealing with Existing Structures and Situations, ” focuses on how existing structures can be reimagined and places revitalized.

Martin Haller—entrepreneur, president of the LVH, and municipal advisor for spatial development and construction in Eppan—uses the example of KIOSK Gand to illustrate how a specific local need can give rise to a vision for the future and ultimately to a feasible project. His presentation , “From Need to Vision of the Future—How a Local Idea Becomes a Transferable Model, ” offers insight into a development process that takes the needs of local residents as its starting point.

Sabrina Gentilin, an architect, project designer, and lecturer at the ITS RED Academy, adds yet another dimension to the good life: the quality of our indoor spaces. Her Italian-language lecture , “L’aria che respiriamo: la salute pubblica comincia dentro gli edifici,” highlights the importance of the quality of the built environment—and indoor health in particular—for our daily lives.

What specific steps can we take?

To conclude, we’ll bring together the different perspectives in a joint discussion. Under the question “Creating Great Places Together—What Can We Do Specifically?”, we want to consciously look ahead: What can communities, planners, businesses, and citizens do to help develop places worth living in? And how can local needs give rise to concrete visions for the future?

Following the conference, we invite you to join us for drinks. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the VIVIUS booth at GOOD LIFE and speak with our speakers in person.
