VIVIUS meets | Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments

The meeting with the Historic Preservation Office focused on joint approaches to raising awareness of sustainability and historic preservation. The discussion centered on the importance of involving building owners early in the planning process so that requirements and opportunities can be taken into account from the very beginning. In addition, Ms. Della Torre presented current examples of building culture, including projects in Stilfs, Mühlbach, and at Moos Castle.

At the start of the meeting, Christine Pfeifer presented VIVIUS and the key areas of the cluster’s work. Particular emphasis was placed on the shared goal of raising public awareness of issues such as sustainability and historic preservation. There is often a lack of information in this area, as well as concerns about high costs—these barriers can be overcome through targeted awareness-raising efforts.

Another key point was the early involvement of building owners in the planning process. When historic preservation and sustainability expertise are taken into account from the very beginning, requirements and opportunities can be better integrated.

Ms. Della Torre also highlighted the diverse architectural landscape at the NOI, which ranges from historic buildings protected as cultural heritage to a chapel and public art installations. In addition, she discussed projects such as the affordable housing development in Stilfs (designed by architect Susanne Waiz), the Mühlbach senior living facility, and Moos Castle.
