As part of the VIVIUS meets event, Heidi Felderer presented her construction company. What makes it special is that the business is run by a woman—a rarity in the construction industry even today. Heidi Felderer spoke about her career path and the challenges she had to overcome in her early years after taking over the business. At first, it wasn’t easy for her, as a woman, to make her voice heard and earn the respect of the construction workers. But thanks to her open personality, the company’s flat hierarchy, and her willingness to roll up her sleeves and pitch in at every level, she succeeded in growing the business.

A key characteristic of the company is the deep trust that management places in its employees. This appreciation was also evident at the event, when the employees themselves spoke about the company and were visibly proud of their work. Joint anniversary celebrations and regular get-togethers, such as after-work drinks, further strengthen team spirit and encourage open communication.

Heidi Felderer Bau also sets a clear example when it comes to sustainability: The scope of its construction work is deliberately limited to the region, with most projects carried out in the immediate vicinity. This ensures that value is created within the region, transportation distances are kept short, and local building traditions are strengthened.
