How can craftsmanship and biodiversity work together? What opportunities do sustainable materials and resource-efficient work practices offer? And how can such approaches be implemented in day-to-day operations?
We’ll be exploring these questions on November 19, 2026, at the 360° workshop “How Much Biodiversity Is There in the Skilled Trades?” at the NOI Techpark in Bolzano. The event is part of the Interreg project Craft2Biodiversity and invites participants to work together to develop new perspectives for sustainable and biodiversity-friendly skilled trades.
Whether in the skilled trades, architecture, or planning—anywhere that involves building, designing, and working with materials, there are opportunities to help preserve biodiversity.
But there are often very practical challenges that stand between good ideas and their implementation. This is exactly where we want to start.
The 360° workshop brings together people from different fields to share experiences, openly discuss challenges, and work together to find solutions. The focus is not only on environmental aspects, but also on how to make sustainable work economically viable and attractive in the long term.
In addition to fostering mutual exchange, the workshop offers exciting insights into the research work of the Craft2Biodiversity project. Participants will have the opportunity to share their own experiences and ideas, establish regional connections, and learn more about future pilot projects.
The focus is on a shared goal: to determine how biodiversity conservation can be even more closely integrated with the skilled trades—in a practical, forward-looking way that provides real added value for businesses and the environment.
We look forward to welcoming everyone who wants to discover new perspectives, share their experiences, and join us in reflecting on the future of sustainable skilled trades.
