Owner and Management of Naturalia-Bau

Roland Gabasch

“For over 30 years, Naturalia-Bau has stood for healthy building materials made from renewable resources such as wood, hemp, and clay—100% eco-friendly, sustainable, and free of harmful substances. We bring this philosophy and experience to our collaboration with VIVIUS, because in an era when large corporations are becoming increasingly powerful, smaller companies can only survive if they network locally and demonstrate strength through unity. This is precisely where VIVIUS comes in: as a platform that brings together committed businesses to bring innovative, healthy, and sustainable solutions to market. Our headquarters in Merano, built in 2008, demonstrates that we view sustainability as more than just a buzzword—it is Italy’s first zero-emission office building, constructed entirely from renewable raw materials, and today it produces more energy than it consumes. In this way, we contribute to a better climate—both indoors and outdoors—and demonstrate what sustainability in action can look like in the construction industry."

Naturalia-Bau is a South Tyrolean company based in Merano that has specialized in ecological building materials since its spin-off from the original company “Naturalia” in 1997. Under the leadership of Roland Gabasch and Helga Pircher Schiefer, it has grown into an Italian market leader in the field of natural insulation systems. Its product range includes sustainable products such as wood fiber insulation, hemp, clay, natural paints, and anti-mold solutions, all of which are certified to meet strict ecological standards. In addition to sales, Naturalia-Bau operates a natural building materials store in Merano and is strongly committed to innovation and sustainability: for example, in 2008 the company constructed Italy’s first zero-emissions commercial building and developed Europe’s first natural core insulation system with ETA approval. Thanks to its high product quality, certifications (including Natureplus and CasaClima Partner), and a comprehensive network of consultants, Naturalia-Bau is now regarded as a pioneer in healthy, energy-efficient, and resource-conserving construction.
