The desire to engage more intensively with sustainable construction has been with me for many years—and has become even stronger during my training as a building biologist. Working with planners and contractors is particularly important to me, because only by working together can we develop a deeper understanding of sustainable construction and really make a difference.
When the Province of Bolzano published its call for proposals for the establishment of innovation clusters, it was clear to me that now was the right moment. The idea of working together with like-minded people on innovative solutions could finally become a reality—VIVIUS was the perfect platform for this.
For us, being part of a start-up network means not only participating, but also actively shaping it. We can contribute our ideas to strategic development, implement concrete measures together, and exchange ideas with other companies that share similar values.
Working together creates different—and often greater—opportunities than working alone. We inspire each other, grow together, and feel that together we are stronger.
For us, sustainability is not just a goal, but an ongoing process.
We therefore had our carbon footprint analyzed to find out where we could make the biggest impact. Two main contributors emerged: electricity consumption and the mobility of our employees.
As a first step, we switched to an electricity contract that guarantees 100% green energy. We are also currently working intensively on a mobility concept that will enable us to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions in our everyday activities—for example, by offering incentives for environmentally friendly commuting and promoting shared mobility solutions.
As a management team, we have developed a shared mission statement that provides us with guidance and shows how everyone in the team can actively contribute to our common goal. Open communication is particularly important to us, which is why we create space for ideas, requests, and feedback. We want to create a working environment in which everyone can contribute and develop. Team-building events, joint activities, flexible working hours, working from home, and the optional free Friday afternoon promote cohesion and a healthy work-life balance.
