Plattform Land is a South Tyrolean alliance dedicated to vibrant rural communities and smart land use. It was founded in the fall of 2013 by the South Tyrolean Farmers’ Association and the Association of Municipalities and was established as an association in 2017. The platform’s goal is to preserve and enhance the quality of life in rural areas through collaboration among various stakeholders. To this end, it implements awareness-raising initiatives and projects aimed at sustainable development and smart land use. Plattform Land is a valuable asset for VIVIUS, as it serves as a strong network that brings together political, economic, and social stakeholders in rural areas and specifically promotes sustainable development—particularly through smart land use, active vacancy management, and forward-looking renovation concepts. This commitment complements VIVIUS’s work perfectly: As a practice-oriented partner with comprehensive expertise in sustainable construction, VIVIUS operates across sectors and contributes external know-how to the network. Joint projects such as the INTERREG project SUSMAT demonstrate how pooling resources leads to concrete measures that anchor sustainability in rural areas for the long term.
